Peterborough One Day Tour

What a relaxing day trip to the Peterborough & Trent Hills area! Start with a 2-hour gentle sightseeing cruise through the world’s highest hydraulic lift locks on the Trent-Severn Waterway. Imagine the entire boat with all the passengers being lifted 65 feet above the city! After the cruise, we visit the museum or the Art Gallery.

The tour takes us across Little Lake, past the Peterborough Centennial Fountain and into the City of Peterborough portion of the 114-year-old lock system. The first traditional lock raises the boat 12 feet. The highlight of the trip however is where you go up and over the Peterborough Liftlock, the world’s highest hydraulic Liftlock which lifts the boat 65 feet or 19.8m above the city!

For decades, the park and zoo have attracted over a quarter of a million visitors a year. And no wonder – the zoo features 25+ exhibits, with over 48 species, including Yak, Camel, Two-Toed Sloth, Wallaby, Emu, River Otter, Squirrel Monkey, Crocodile,
