ITINERARY

Day01

Depart from the USA/Canada.

Day 02

Arrive in Athens

Arrive in Athens, the classical capital of Greece; Find your own transportation to your hotel or you can choose the optional private airport pick up service. The remainder of the day is at leisure to discover the ancient wonders of this city known as the cradle of Western Civilization and the birthplace of democracy.

Day 03

Athens-Delphi-Kalampaka

Drive through Thebes, Levadia and Arachova (famous for its bright multi-colored carpets) arrive in Delphi, the center of the Ancient World – the “Omphalos” (Navel of Earth). Delphi is the second-most important archeological site in Greece and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its theater, Temple of Apollo, and various ancient ruins.

The sanctuary of Delphi, set within a most spectacular landscape, was for many centuries the cultural and religious center and symbol of unity for the Hellenic world and seat of the Pythian Games, the second most important game in Greece after the Olympics.

The tour then visits the archaeological sites of Delphi and the Museum where one can gander at ancient archeological treasures, and marvel at its spectacular exhibits including the frieze of the Treasury of the Sifnians, the Sphinx of Naxos, the Statue of Antinous, the metopes of the Athenian treasury and the famous bronze Charioteer.

Day 04

Kalampaka – Athens

On the 5th day of the Greek Odyssey, the tour will begin at the [Meteora] where you will enjoy unique and impressive scenery with ageless [Monasteries], containing priceless historical and religious treasures, standing between earth and sky atop rock formations. The Meteora is the biggest and most important group of monasteries in Greece after those in Mount Athos. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988 the landscape view of the Meteora is not only beautiful but also widely seen as inspiring and self-centering.

Back to Athens.

Day 05

Athens – Mykonos

After 5 days of incredible site seeing and ancient exploration, it is time to relax. Your tour guide will inform you of the departure time for the 6th day. On your own, find your way to the port to catch a ferry to Mykonos a famous island of the Cyclades and internationally regarded as one of the best leisure destinations in the world.  Known for its pretty white and blue houses, pristine beaches, and exciting nightlife, Mykonos is the perfect place for a Mediterranean retreat.  Upon arrival make your own way to the hotel.

The remainder of the day is at your leisure and relax at your own pace.

Day 06

Mykonos

Enjoy your second day of leisure in the beautiful town of Mykonos. Perhaps visit on your own the impressive 16th-century windmills on the hill behind Mykonos or visit “Paradise Beach” or enjoy the relaxing patios of Little Venice.

Day 07

Mykonos – Santorini

Today, once again arrange your own transportation to the port and catch a ferry to Santorini. One of Greece”s most beloved islands, Santorini is a beautiful island in the southern Aegean Sea, known for its blue-roofed houses and sunsets.  Upon arrival in Santorini arrange for your own transportation to your hotel. The evening is at your leisure to explore the town. Atifa Tours strongly suggests that you partake in a seafood dinner and sample the fresh and exquisite cuisine of this Greek Paradise.

Day  08

Santorini

Enjoy and relax at the wonderful island of Santorini and its incredible views and ocean breeze on day 9.  Atifa Tours recommends that you visit the quaint towns of Fira and Oia and enjoy some coffee or some local cuisine.  Worth noting that the sunsets of Oia are considered some of the most romantic in the world

Day 09

Santorini – Athens

At the dedicated time as outlined by your guide, transfer to the port on your own to catch a ferry back to Athens. Upon arrival, arrange your own transportation to the hotel and enjoy your last few days in Greece. On day 10, you will have an opportunity to do some last-minute shopping, dining, or sightseeing.
